About
Arabella Eyre
Arabella Eyre is a conservation practitioner working at the intersection of ecology, data, and emerging technologies. As a Threatened Species Program Coordinator in Zoos Victoria's Wildlife Conservation and Science team, her work focuses on strengthening how evidence informs conservation action. Arabella has been collaborating with Parks Victoria on the development and testing of an AI‑driven species recognition model designed to streamline the identification of camera trap imagery. Her work includes evaluating model accuracy, understanding its limitations, and exploring how AI can responsibly support biodiversity monitoring and invasive species management. This work is being used to assist conservation efforts for the Leadbeater’s possum, enabling faster detection of feral predators, improved data quality, and more timely management decisions for Victoria's Faunal Emblem.
