Erica McCalman

Erica McCalman (She/Her) is a creative leader and advocate with more than 15 years of contemporary and experimental performing arts practice across festivals, theatre and complex events.In 2024 she commenced as Co-CEO of Theatre Network Australia, the peak body for artists, arts workers and performing arts organisations in Australia. As an independent advocate she has been a trusted source of insight for arts funding bodies, organisations, local and state governments. She has convened digital spaces for discussion of the working lives of creatives and has mentored many emerging practitioners with care and consideration. She is particularly sought after for her cross cultural acumen.

A skilled Creative Producer with a talent for building communities between stakeholders, she has delivered ambitious programs for WorldPride, Australian Performing Arts Market (APAM), Darwin Festival, Next Wave and Sydney Festival. She is the recipient of the 2019 Green Room Award for Innovation in Curation and Programming.

Born and raised on Wurundjeri country in Narrm (Melbourne) Erica is a proud Ballardong Noongar woman with Irish Convict, Scottish and Cornish heritage.
