Joel Pearlman

Joel Pearlman is a leading media executive with over thirty years of experience in the film and media industry. He served as CEO of Roadshow Films, Australia’s leading independent film distributor, where he oversaw the company’s growth and helped forge key relationships with major production companies including Warner Bros, Lionsgate, and A24. Joel also played a significant role in driving investment into FilmNation, one of the leading independent creators of film content, serving on both its Board and greenlight committee. FilmNation’s recent productions include the 2025 Best Picture winner Anora as well as Conclave.

Beyond his corporate leadership, Joel has been a strong supporter of the Australian film and television production industry, backing the development and distribution of some of Australia’s most successful film projects over the past two decades. He has also contributed extensively to the arts sector through board roles with major organisations including the Melbourne International Film Festival, the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
