Julie Inman Grant
Julie has extensive experience across the non-profit and government sectors, and has spent two decades in senior public policy and safety roles within the technology industry at Microsoft, Twitter, and Adobe. Her career began in Washington DC, working in the US Congress and the non-profit sector before joining Microsoft.
At Microsoft, she spent 17 years as one of the company’s first and longest-serving government relations professionals, ultimately becoming Global Director for Safety and Privacy Policy and Outreach. She later joined Twitter, where she established and led policy, safety, and philanthropy programs across Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia.
As Commissioner, Julie plays a significant global leadership role in online safety and digital governance. She is Chair of the Child Dignity Alliance’s Technical Working Group and a Board Member of the WePROTECT Global Alliance. She also serves on the World Economic Forum’s Global Coalition for Digital Safety and XR Ecosystem Governance Steering Committee. Under her leadership, eSafety has partnered with the White House Gender Policy Council and the Government of Denmark on the Global Partnership for Action on Gender-Based Harassment and Abuse.
