About
Zoe Daniel
Zoe Daniel is a journalist, author, and former independent MP for Goldstein — making history in 2022 as the seat's first female representative. In Parliament, she advocated for women's safety, economic equality, healthcare, climate legislation, and digital safety, always with a people-first approach.
Before politics, Zoe spent nearly 30 years as a foreign correspondent for the ABC, covering major global events across Africa, Asia, and the United States — from climate disasters and conflict to the Trump presidency. As ABC's Washington Bureau Chief, she became a trusted voice on international affairs.
She is the author of three books: Storyteller, a memoir of life as a foreign correspondent; Angel, a novel inspired by her reporting on Typhoon Haiyan; and Greetings from Trumpland, co-authored with Roscoe Whalan.
Now based in bayside Melbourne, Zoe continues her advocacy through public speaking, consulting, and community engagement — driven by a deep commitment to democracy, equity, and climate action.
